Scarf

Scarfs or chalinas are not part of traditional Andean dress. Most women of the indigenous communities keep warm with their llicllas. However, the rectangular form of the scarf, and its popularity in other cultures, have made it a commonly produced item on the looms of Andean weavers. In fact, the simple form and relatively small sizes allow weavers to showcase their artistic flair in color and pattern with a smaller investment of time. Therefore, some of the most beautiful examples of traditional Andean weaving today appear on scarfs. Scarfs vary greatly in terms of width and length, so be careful to check specific item dimensions to suit your needs.
